TIP #3: Using the saw's built-in laser line, you
can quickly cut plywood and other panels in half with surprising accuracy
using only two pencil marks as a guide. With a tape
measure, lay out and strike a pencil mark on the opposite edges of the panel
you wish to cut. For example, say you wish to cut a 3 ft. by 4 ft. wide piece
from a sheet of 4 x 8 particleboard. Measuring from the same end of the
sheet, put marks at 3 ft. on the front and back long-edge of the plywood (see
photo at left)... |

...Now line up your
sawblade with the mark on one edge of your panel. Turn on the laser line and
align the saw (rotating it slightly) so that the laser lines up with the mark
on the opposite edge of the sheet. Power on the saw and carefully cut across
the panel while keeping the laser line aligned with the mark the entire time. |
